Hello friends! Welcome to my wellness blog! I'm here today to help you understand what leaky gut is and why it is so important to take care of our gut health. I will try and make this as simple as possible. The term leaky gut is a pretty big buzz word in the holistic world these day. Did you know that 75% of our immune system lies in our guts?So when compromised, your entire body will be out of balance. Our gut is designed to host a healthy balance of both good and bad bacteria. When this is out of balance, the bad bacteria takes over and can cause all kids of symptoms like belly bloat, yeast overgrowth, food sensitivities, headaches, trouble losing weight, depression and even brain fog. A healthy gut needs a ratio of 80/20. With out this balance, you start to lose the permeability of the stomach lining which allows foods and toxin to leach into the bloodstrem, causing our bodies to start attacking ourselves. Voila! Leaky Gut, and hello food sensitivities! This for me was the worst. Everything I ate would make my lips tingle and sometimes my throat. I actually became allergic to nuts and they were my favorite. When left untreated, the body can start to develop an autoimmune disease. So, can we fix it? Yes. Can we prevent it? Yes. With proper nutrition, mindset, and supplementation, the body has the ability to regenerate itself. It can take some time depending on your own situation. From personal experience, It took over a year and It will take some serious will power but so worth it in the end. I have never felt better! I can enjoy food and life again. I have so much energy now along with no more aches and pains from inflammation. Its pretty amazing! Does this sound familiar? Think your gut is leaking? I want to help you.
